About Us

glad tidings fellowship
Glad Tidings Fellowship Ushewokunze (Mount Zion Assembly) is a satellite church of the HighGlen Assembly started in December 2020 under the leadership of Pastor A. T. Gore. The assembly has grown from just 5 families gathering in a garage to a vibrant congregation of more than 400 with 2 pastors, 5 Elders and 6 Deacons.

The work has several ministries focused mainly on winning souls to Christ and making disciples of Jesus. These are Men of Integrity, Women of Wisdom, Couples, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry and New Believers Ministry. In addition, we have various ministry teams supporting the work of God including Cell group leaders, Evangelism, Prayer, Praise & Worship, Hospitality, Ushering, Media, Events, Dorcas, Decor & Hosting and many more
Mount Zion is a spiritual reference to the church of Jesus Christ, the place (and people) that God Himself inhabits and through whom He primarily reveals Himself to the world. As a people we strive to reveal the presence of God and God’s truth in our daily lives. By so doing we are able to fulfill the great commission as given by our Lord Jesus Christ and handed to us by our founding fathers.

You have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem… You have come to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God… to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. (Hebrews 12:22-24)

Our primary mission is to fulfill the great commission as given by our Lord Jesus Christ and passed on to us by our founding fathers (Matthew 28:19-20).

The mission is simple but not necessarily easy: “Go ye therefore…” To summarize what we are commanded to go and do:

1. Go… and WIN SOULS
The world is lost and going astray (Isaiah 53:6), blinded by satan’s lies and schemes (2 Cor 4:4). Judgment day is fast approaching on which God shall judge the entire world (Act 17:30-31) – those who have believed shall be saved while those who have not shall perish (John 3:16). We must let the world know about Jesus and the free salvation that He has purchased for every human being so that people may believe in Him before it’s too late (2 Cor 5:20).

2. Go… and MAKE DISCIPLES
Those who have believed in Jesus and have been won over from the world and the power of the enemy are being called to be disciples and followers of Jesus (Mat 28:19). Jesus wants them to become like Himself in all things. We are to train God’s people to grow in walking with Jesus, in loving Jesus, in knowing Jesus and in obeying Jesus in everything (Eph 1:17).

3. Go… and BUILD MY KINGDOM
By continually winning souls to Christ and making disciples of those who have come to Christ, we ultimately make our contribution to building God’s kingdom here on earth (Mat 6:9-10). We labor and fight in our little corner of the universe knowing that we are a part of a bigger family spread throughout the world with one ultimate goal – building God’s kingdom on earth.

INTERESTED IN THIS GREAT MISSION? Join us for this all important mission.

Our vision is for both a people and a place.

  1. A people who are filled by God’s Spirit (Acts 1:8) (who carry God’s presence everywhere they go); a people of the word of God (Col 3:16) (who carry God’s truth everywhere they go).
  2. A place where God’s presence and God’s truth is revealed to the world.

A place and people on a mission:
to WIN SOULS, to MAKE DISCIPLES, to BUILD GOD’S KINGDOM.

"Go ye therefore..." We are going. Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age
A BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR DENOMINATION

Glad Tidings Fellowship

In 1982 brother Richmond Chiundiza was given the vision to start the ministry of Glad Tidings Fellowship. The church launched towards the end of 1982 at Highfield Secondary School in Harare, Zimbabwe. In 1984 the leading team of the ministry was established and was named Disciples in Action. The responsibility of the Disciples in Action team is to plant churches and oversee doctrinal issues in the Glad Tidings Fellowship.

The DIA team members are: Pastor R. Chiundiza (founder), Pastor A. T. Gore (Highglen church – Gomo rekutizira), Pastor A. D. Simba (Mufakose church – Goshen) and Pastor Kaseke (Dzivaresekwa church). These men of God, with their apostolic calling, have planted churches all over Zimbabwe.

Since 1982 Glad Tidings Fellowship has grown and established more than 150 assemblies in Harare and every major city and town in Zimbabwe and some rural areas. We also have congregations in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Malawi, Zambia and Botswana. Our pastors are trained nationally and internationally at registered and accredited colleges or universities.
